ASTM E96 – Water Vapor Transmission Rate of Materials Using Gravimetric Method August 19,2019.

As we all know, nowadays products packaging plays an important role in protecting product quality for the duration of its require shelf life.  For moisture sensitive products, such as dry milk powers, medicines, etc., moisture barriers materials are needed to control moisture into and out of packaging.  It is essential to accurately test the barrier property, also called as water vapor transmission rate (WVTR).There are many testing method for the water vapor transmission rate, testing standard ASTM E96 is known as gravimetric or cup test method, usually only measures WVTR above 0.5 g/(m2*day) the best.
